School vouchers: an intractable dilemma?

Article Abstract:

School vouchers continue to be an extremely divisive issue in politics, and most public opinion polls show support for vouchers is significantly higher in minority communities. The difference between the micro- and macroeconomic perspectives may be the reason why vouchers seem such an intractable issue. Studies on whether voucher students achieve measurable performance gains are inconclusive, and each parent must decide whether to use them or to work with other parents to improve the public schools.

Privacy in the new millennium: virtual trespass and other concepts

Article Abstract:

The two beliefs about privacy at stake in the California Privacy Protection Act of 1998 are discussed and are being tested on many fronts, the assumption of a person's right to privacy in the home and the belief that images obtained without physically invading another person's domain may be freely used. Various courts wrestle with this issue and should favor the free flow of information in their rulings.
