Sounds of crisis

Article Abstract:

The recorded conversation between President Lyndon B. Johnson and Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara that has the power to take back to a moment of crisis even after 40 years is evaluated. The tone, the emotions, and even the pauses reveal the aspects of the conversation, which took place in August 1964 during the Gulf of Tonkin crisis caused by North Vietnamese attack on the US Maddox.

Treaty of alliance with France

Article Abstract:

In July 1776, founding fathers of U.S. sent a delegation led by Benjamin Franklin to France with a proposal for treaty with France. After some hesitation, King Louis XVI approved the treaty under which, France would continue to aid the Americans in their fight for independence, and the U.S. would help France in the event of a war with Great Britain (which came soon).

The treaty of Kanagawa opens up Japan

Article Abstract:

The Treaty of Kanagawa, 1854 opened American relations with Japan, which was signed by Commodore Matthew Perry. The treaty contained opening up of closed society and the beginning of a 150-year relationship with America, but did not include any trade provisions that would come later.
