The Millennium Project: issues and opportunities for the future

Article Abstract:

The second year of the American Council for the UN University's Millennium Project culminated with the identification and rating of 180 developments that could emerge to greatly improve the human condition in the foreseeable future. These developments were classified into 15 global opportunities with suggested measures that may be used to achieve them. The feasibility of these measures was assessed by policy makers and advisors. The relationships and impacts of the 15 global opportunities and the 15 global issues identified at the Millenium Project' first year of operation are presented.

Article Abstract:

The Millennium Project of the American Council for the United Nations University was established to predict the global future. The project was established by respected global organizations, scholars and futures analysts to anticipate the emerging problems of the world. The project is a continuous research program that analyzes the current sociological and technological situation and formulates major and minor scenarios for a 'State Future Report' that is made available to international information systems.
