The global city of the 21st century

Article Abstract:

The functional determinant of the global city in an interactive framework was done in order to draw a functional and morphological scenario of the global city. The study revealed that all the nations of the world are becoming transformed from traditional agriculture based civilization to high-technology based tertiary civilization due to globalization of technology, economic restructuring, socio-cultural diffusions and political alliances.

Environmental, demographic and territorial dimensions of sustainable development

Article Abstract:

The subject of urbanization and land use patterns and perspectives that led to environmental change and spatial planning and governance in advancing towards sustainable development was also studied. The study revealed that priority should be given to the factors that enhance the capacity of regions and cities to adapt to conditions that are impossible to forecast through vision-making exercises and for achieving sustainable development.

A new international environmental order in the making

Article Abstract:

The New International Economic Order (NIEO) expressed that environmental policy could be more effective for improving the developing countries and that would link environmental protection and economic development. The international environmental policy has helped developing countries to achieve a number of successes.
