The influence of nutritional health on physical function: A critical relationship for homebound older adults

Article Abstract:

An evaluation of how poor nutritional health in case of obesity and low nutrient intakes from food may influence the decline in physical function and increased severity of disability among homebound older men and women are presented. The relationship between nutritional health and physical function among homebound elders are considered important for those who have a low income and limited education and also for those who live alone.

Food and nutrition in nursing homes

Article Abstract:

Nutritional professionals affect both the health outcome and quality of life of a significant number of older people. It is suggested that nutrition care providers must be proactive and establish systems to provide adequate feeding assistance at meals and snacks and offer appealing, nutrient-dense foods and beverages.

Tooth and mouth problems and nutrition among older people

Article Abstract:

The relationship between oral health and nutritional and health status of older adults is reviewed despite the clear importance of oral health to the overall health of the individual. The neglect of oral heath increases the risks of developing diseases and is likely to reduce an older person's quality of life.
