The norms of entrepreneurial science: cognitive effects of the new university-industry linkages

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine the cognitive influence of university/industry linkages on the perspectives of scientists regarding research, and their association with colleagues, firms and educational institutions. Results indicated that the transition to entrepreneurial science correlated with cognitive opportunities, institutional rearrangements and normative change. Findings also showed that universities have begun integrating economic and social development as part of their efforts to promote entrepreneurial science.
