Translator's introduction

Article Abstract:

An introduction to the works of Jean Laplanche is presented so that readers unfamiliar with his work are enabled to appreciate their scope and also follow the evolution of his thought. Laplanche's two works, 'Interpreting (with) Freud' and 'Exigency and Going Astray' are placed within the chronological and theoretical itinerary of his enterprise and in an attempt to bridge the two texts, the lines of continuity between them and the points of development from one to the other are clarified.

Freud and the prophetic

Article Abstract:

Re-examination of Sigmund Freud's work on frustration can help to conclude that psychoanalysis falls within the register of the prophetic instead of the messianic. It is believed that between the politics of apocalypticism and the politics of messianism emerges the politics of prophetic.
