Why the paraphilias? Domesticating strange sex

Article Abstract:

This article examines the psychological processes involved in the development of paraphilias such as fetishism or pedophilia. Studies indicate that these psychosexual disorders are extremely difficult to eradicate once established and are often related to an interrupted sexual experience at an early age and subsequent sexual frustration.
