A study of poverty risks based on involuntary migration of Chinese village dwellers

Article Abstract:

An estimated half of the rural villages that are subject to involuntary migration in China have found poverty as the primary risk they faced during the migration process. The poverty risk that accompanies involuntary migration has become a focus of concern for the Chinese government, and academic circles are carrying out in-depth explorations of this issue, proposing minimization of migration to the greatest extent possible, while improving the abilities of those immigrating.

Chinese rural women in the shift in the rural labor force from agricultural to nonagricultural work

Article Abstract:

The impact of the rapid changes in work patterns in rural China on women is discussed. The authors examine the ways in which the shift away from agricultural work has increased women's consciousness and economic contribution, both among those who stayed in the country and those who left for urban areas.

Adaptation, revival, and reconstruction

Article Abstract:

A research is conducted on eastern Guangdong's Pingdi town and southern Jiangxi's Liu village, and the post-1949 path of development of clans within the context of proximity of habitation within clan groups. The conditions in Liu village and in the Pingdi town are revealed.
