An assessment of the predictive validity of impact factor scores: Implications for academic employment decisions in social work

Article Abstract:

The method of examining scholarly communications known as bibliometrics and its impact factor score (IFS) in particular has always been the subject of much discussion. The implications of a study that provided estimates of the predictive validity of the IFS, which is demonstrated by the size of the association between the IFS of journals and the number of citations to articles published in those journals are discussed.

Assessing progress toward accreditation related objectives: Evidence regarding the use of self-efficacy as an outcome in the advanced concentration research curriculum

Article Abstract:

The requirement of the Council on Social Work Education's Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS) to monitor the outcome of social work education was conducted to assess student progress in advanced concentration courses. The result obtained emphasized the importance and use of the ESE as a useful tool.

The Evaluation Self-Efficacy Scale for assessing progress toward CSWE accreditation-related objectives: a replication

Article Abstract:

A study was undertaken to build up an assessment tool, the Evaluation Self-Efficacy Scale for evaluation of social work related courses. Results showed that newly developed method indicated positive outcomes and could be used either for educational or certification of research work.
