Treating addictive behaviors in the employee assistance program: Implications for brief interventions

Article Abstract:

A study examined employee assistance program (EAP) utilization by individuals with addictive behaviors, specifically to evaluate referral source and treatment outcome by gender and presenting problem. Results suggest that EAPs may be well suited for implementation of brief interventions (BIs) that are empirically supported in other contexts.

Feedback interventions for college alcohol misuse

An insight on published outcome studies that have utilized feedback as a major component of an alcohol intervention for college students is presented. Motivational feedback is one intervention that has garnered support in the literature and is adopted on college campuses.

The absence of benzodiazepine craving in a general practice benzodiazepine discontinuation trial

The article describes a two-part intervention treatment for long-term benzodiazepine users in the Netherlands. Cravings measurements are provided according to patients' continued use or quitting status.
