Behavioral manifestations of child abuse

Article Abstract:

A panel discussion concerning the behavioral manifestations of sexually abused children is presented. The Child Sexual Behavior Inventory is utilized as a diagnostic test for sexual abuse. Although it has its limitations, the information that is collected must reflect the accuracy of the abuse. In relation to the discussion on patient outcomes, peer and family support contribute to the good outcome of the victim. Victims with poor family support result to self-reported gynecologic symptoms.

Behavioral manifestations of child sexual abuse: response

Article Abstract:

Research on the behavioral characteristics of sexually abused children is significant in understanding the overall development of the victim. Two primary factors are related to the development of children who experienced sexual abuse and other traumatic events, namely, genetic and prevalence of external support systems. Disclosure, medical findings and observed and reported behaviors are three domains used in the diagnosis of the abuse.
