Brownfield sites in Minneapolis-St. Paul: the interwoven geographies of industrial disinvestment and environmental contamination

Article Abstract:

An empirical analysis of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area to demonstrate that brownfields cannot be understood separately from the dynamics of urban industrial investment and disinvestment. The results support recent public policy that attempts to address the dual urban-economic and environmental nature of brownfields.

Gentrification and land rent: a historical view of the rent gap in Minneapolis

Article Abstract:

The rent gap theory used to explain gentrification has been evaluated in the research based in Minneapolis. Results support the theory's emphasis on the uneven development role in the rent gap creation.
