Can empirical clinical practice techniques improve social work outcomes?

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the value of empirical clinical practice (ECP) techniques in social work are examined, focusing on a study comparing social workers who used ECP with intervention and social workers who used only intervention. Topics include a definition of ECP, which is the use of statistical data to monitor intervention; history of ECP; and conclusion that use of ECP results in reduction of client problems.

The Client Satisfaction Inventory: results of an initial validation study

Article Abstract:

Data suggest that the Client Satisfaction Inventory, a questionnaire given to clients, is useful to assess the efficacy of human service agencies. Subjects discussed include general satisfaction scales, client variables, content and construct validity and the reliability of self-reporting.

The four cornerstones of evidence-based practice in social work

Article Abstract:

The evidence-based practice is focused within its wider scholarly contexts and lessons from the experiences of other professions that are engaged in implementing it are described. It was found that the experiences of other professions have a great deal to offer social work practice.
