Changing heterosexuals' attitudes toward homosexuals: A systematic review of the empirical literature

Article Abstract:

Evidence for interventions that change heterosexuals' attitude toward homosexuals was reviewed. Findings showed that no short- term intervention was able to create attitudinal shift that translates into behavioral changes toward homosexual individuals, while some interventions require further testing and new methodology to determine efficacy.

Client satisfaction and perceived helping components of an HIV/AIDS preventive intervention for urban couples

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine the client satisfaction and perceived helping components of men and women who participated in an HIV/STD relationship-based intervention. The importance for evaluating the client perceptions of the helping components is discussed.

The effectiveness of three inpatient intervention strategies for chemically dependent women

Article Abstract:

Research has investigated the effectiveness of female-sensitive, mixed-gender, and combined treatment interventions for substance abuse. Women in this study showed perceived low levels of social support but no levels of improvement in self-esteem or depression.
