Churches and social development: A South African perspective

Article Abstract:

A study that explores the relationship of churches with respect to the hardships suffered by millions in the existing post-apartheid era of South Africa is illustrated. An appropriate method to alleviate the hardships of poverty would be social development, with its economic component, and to accomplish this, the churches have the challenge of devising social development programs that are effective and sustainable.

The psychosocial needs of adolescents affected by HIV/AIDS: A South African study

Article Abstract:

HIV/AIDS-infected adolescents' responses on their psychosocial needs and the responses of infected parents on the psychosocial needs of their adolescent children are reported. Specific psychosocial needs like counseling, support, relationships and economic implications are discussed besides identifying particulars and other issues.
