Circumscribed accuracy among well-acquainted individuals

Article Abstract:

The circumscribed accuracy level, the ability to predict an interaction partner's behavior, is low among the well-acquainted individuals. However, the level of global accuracy, the ability to predict a person's behavior with others, is high. The low circumscribed accuracy may be low due to weak self-fulfilling prophecy effects. The relational perception of non-behavioral aspects or low relational variance in behavior can also affect the accuracy level.

An attempt is made to explore uniqueness of perceptions using a person model approach to evaluate judgments of actual people. The main aim is to demonstrate perceiver's use of person models with human targets engaged in social interaction and the content of the person models in terms of masculinity-femininity and affect, as well as the extent to which person models explain the uniqueness of impressions are explored.

When accommodation matters: situational dependency within daily interactions with romantic partners

Article Abstract:

The extent to which accommodation reduces negative outcomes connected to dependence in daily interactions with romantic partners is examined. The findings suggest that pro-relationship reactions to situational dependency do minimize the negative outcomes associated with dependence.
