Contingencies of reinforcement in a five-person prisoner's dilemma

Article Abstract:

A tit-for-tat contingency in an iterated prisoner's dilemma game creates a conflict between maximization of local and global reinforcement, which examine this conflict in a multiplayer prisoner's dilemma game. A five-player prisoners' dilemma was played by undergraduates against four dummy players and with tit for tat, a playerEs cooperation increased dummy players' cooperation on subsequent trials reinforcing cooperation and punishing defection in the long run.

Reporting contingencies of reinforcement in concurrent schedules

Article Abstract:

Experiments were conducted to study contingencies of reinforcement in concurrent schedules. Five pigeons received extensive training on two-key concurrent schedules involving switching-key concurrent schedules and training on a symbolic matching-to-sample procedure. Results indicate that the response-reinforcer relations arranged in a concurrent schedule can be discriminated especially when explicit contingencies are arranged.

Notes on discounting

Article Abstract:

A variable, when expressed as a function of its own maximum value, results in that function being called a discount function. Delay discounting and probability discounting are commonly studied in psychology, but memory, matching and economic utility may also be viewed as discounting processes such that the discount function obtained is hyperbolic in form.
