Difficulties of stepchildren from reconstituted families in a westernized society challenged by traditional Chinese culture: Reflections on helping strategies

Article Abstract:

Hong Kong is known as a prosperous financial center in Asia and a world city because of its trade links around the globe, but though they are western in their outlook they are eastern in their hearts and believe in holding traditional cultural values where families are concerned. The children in reconstituted families have to face negative stereotyping at home as well as school, and so a few pointers to help these children and their families are illustrated.
