From traditional to liberal racism: Living racism in the everyday

Article Abstract:

Hundreds of entries in student journals collected at a university in the Mountain West are studied and a striking contradiction between an articulated understanding of racism as 'a thing of the past' and the reality of a persistent and pervasive racism are captured. It is concluded that the contemporary 'colorblind' discourse of the liberal era suggests an ongoing race project centered on the maintenance of white privilege.

Article Abstract:

There are many public housing agencies that are winning the battle of public relations even in the existing challenging environment. Profiles of two success stories, the Housing Authority of McDonough County and the Philadelphia Housing Authority, as well as some basic tips to help other agencies begin or improve their public relations campaigns are illustrated.
