Going to the source: why Al Qaeda'a financial network is likely to withstand the current war on terrorist financing

Article Abstract:

The impact of the war on terrorism has been minimal on Al Qaeda as it has built a strong financial network, learnt to leverage the global financial system efficiently and built a significant base of Islamic charities in Saudi Arabia. Owing to this, Al Qaeda has still managed to stay strong irrespective of the outcome of the war.

Dissuading state support of terrorism: strikes or sanctions? (an analysis of dissuasion measures employed against Libya

Article Abstract:

The efficacy of various strategies of dissuading state support for terrorism is examined. The principle case study of Libya to test the impact of military force, unilateral economic sanctions, and multilateral economic sanctions against states that provide support to international terrorist organizations is presented.

Charity as resistance: Connections between charity, contentious politics, and terror

Article Abstract:

An exploration of the nexus between charity and terrorism post 9/11 reveals two primary ways in which the provision of charitable service facilitates terrorism. Steps that can be taken to reduce political violence and lessen the use of charity as a tool by terrorists are suggested.
