Intellectual property theft and organized crime: The case of film piracy

Article Abstract:

The process by which the crime of intellectual property theft is organized with specific attention given to film piracy is explored. An analysis of available sources reveal that general conclusions about the relationship of organized crime to film piracy results from lack of useable and verifiable information in media, government, and industry sources.

Organized crime and the theft of Iraqi antiquities

Article Abstract:

The looting of Iraq museums and archaeological artifacts during the fighting of 2003 is examined. The international response is evaluated to determine its effectiveness in combating both the theft of Iraq's archeological treasures and the increasing power of criminal actors in the country.

Methods and motives: exploring links between transnational organized crime and international terrorism

Article Abstract:

A study suggesting methods for identifying links between international terrorist groups and organized criminal groups is presented. The study also examines the factors that motivate collaboration between the two.
