International Narcotics Control Strategy Report - 2002: part I: introduction

The International Narcotics Control Strategy Report (INCSR)-2002 is the sixteenth annual report prepared pursuant to the Foreign Assistance Act. The INCSR provides the factual basis for the designations contained in the President's report to Congress on the major drug -transit or major illicit drug producing countries.

The international donor community accelerates its effort to provide anti-money laundering/anti-terrorist financing technical assistance to committed countries most vulnerable to terrorist financing. The United State's effort to combat terrorist financing relies on a mix of multilateral and bilateral initiatives.

The fight against terrorism and crime in the context of national, regional, and global security

Article Abstract:

The anti-terrorist campaign in Afghanistan was initiated to eradicate terrorism and the illegal production and traffic in narcotics emanating from that region. Several tasks to determine the causes and nature of the threats as well as the development of tools to combat them are described.
