"Meaningful" social inferences: Effects of implicit theories on inferential processes

Article Abstract:

A study explores how different implicit theories of social behavior affect social inference by examining the distinct theories that exist even among individuals with the same cultural background. Results of three studies that measured or manipulated peoples beliefs about the stable versus dynamic nature of human attributes revealed that, when interpreting others actions, perceivers theories selectively facilitate the consideration of interpretations that are especially theory-relevant.

The predictive value of daily vs. retrospective well-being judgments in relationship stability

Article Abstract:

The role of daily and retrospective judgments of well-being and relationship satisfaction in relationship longevity was studied. Several intriguing phenomena like participants overestimating daily relationship domain satisfaction, positive behavior of self and the partner when making retrospective judgments were revealed.

The contextual and systematic nature of life satisfaction judgment

Article Abstract:

The nature of life satisfaction judgments was examined. Five studies were conducted during the examination; these five studies highlighted the contextually sensitive, yet systematic nature of life satisfaction judgment.
