Article Abstract:

Research reveals that contingent valuation methods (CVM) play an important role in the valuation of agri-environmental policies and that results are often context dependent and cannot be generalized to other cases. Topics include landscape impact, protectors of wildlife, such as the Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), and ways to make contingent valuation methods studies of environmentally sensitive areas more relevant are also mentioned.
