Muslim families from Morocco in the Netherlands: gender dynamics and fathers' roles in a context of change

Article Abstract:

Patterns of fathering among Moroccan Muslim families in the Netherlands are discussed. Topics include parenting from a cultural-ecological perspective, motherhood in relation to ideology and emancipation, cultural change and preservation after migration, fathering within Moroccan families in the Netherlands, ideals of parenthood and role division, and the actual division of family tasks.
