NAHRO in San Diego

Article Abstract:

The National Assn of Housing and Redevelopment Officials' (NAHRO) 1997 National Conference and Exhibition will revolve around the theme 'Retooling our Industry.' To be held on Oct 26-29, the event will focus on helping housing and community development professionals develop the skills and knowledge needed to meet the requirements of a new environment. Specifically, it will offer workshops covering innovative techniques and practical strategies in four important programmatic and policy areas, namely, community development, housing, organizational management and commissions workshops. The conference and exhibition will be held in San Diego, CA, a city with a high demand for housing but a low supply of affordable units. This problem is being addressed by the San Diego Housing Commission, whose mission is to make affordable housing more accessible.
