National identity in Europe today: What the people feel and think.

Article Abstract:

The unification of Europe is regarded as a threat to the survival of national cultures and identities by Europeans, fearing the disappearance of internal borders between European union states to result in a loss of variety in national cultures and identities. There is an immense support for the unification project but majority of Europeans are not strongly attached to Europe hence European union is yet to gain loyalties of its citizens.

Inviting more women to the party: gender quotas and women's substantive representation in Germany

Article Abstract:

The women legislators can draw attention to women's causes and interests more effectively compared to men. The gender quotas exert a positive influence on frequency of reference to women's issues.
