Negative incidental affect and mood congruency in crossed categorization

Article Abstract:

The effects of incidental sadness and anger on affilitative response to crossed categorization targets were examined. Study 1 showed anger-provoking frustration, study 2 showed a sad film clip, study 3 was about sad and anger-provoking topics, study four showed that despite yielding a consistent pattern for affiliation, sadness and anger differentially elicited aggressive tendencies towards the same targets.

Get mad and get more than even: When and why anger expression is effective in negotiations

Article Abstract:

Studies are conducted to prove that anger expressions increase expresser's ability to claim value in negotiations, but only when the recipients of these expressions have poor alternatives. This effect occurs because anger expression communicates toughness, and only recipients who have poor alternatives are affected by the toughness of their counterpart.

The effects of message quality and congruency on perceptions of tailored health communications

Article Abstract:

An experiment that was carried out to see the effect of matching message frame to motivational orientation on the strength of the message's arguments is discussed. The results observed that participants were sensitive to argument quality in the matched but not mismatched conditions.
