On the deceptive effectiveness of labeled and unlabeled advertorial formats

Article Abstract:

This article examines readers' responses to labeled and unlabeled advertorials, an advertising format disguised as editorial material. The authors found readers' responses to the two types of advertorials were not significantly different, however, maintain those who read the labeled advertorials had a more difficult time recalling the presence of the label.
