The effect of parental marital quality on young adults' attitudes toward divorce

Article Abstract:

The effect of parental marital quality on parent-child attitude similarity and whether the perceptions of parents' marital quality influence young adults' attitudes independently of the effect of parents' views is examined. Findings indicate that young adults who believe that their parents should divorce are more likely to have positive views of divorce and are less likely to share parents' attitudes.

The influence of HIV concordance and discordance on marital life: A study from Mumbai, India

Article Abstract:

The effects of HIV concordance and discordance on marital life are examined with reference to the in-depth interviews conducted with seven couples from Mumbai, India. Thematic analysis of their narratives revealed the influence of HIV concordance and discordance on the spousal relationship, sexual functioning, family formation, care and support, and the future of the family.

An analysis of services for victims of marital rape: a case study

Article Abstract:

Statistics regarding marital rape and the victim assistance after this happens are discussed. A study of this crime in the Richmond, VA metropolitan area indicates very few officially reported incidents and two agencies, the YWCA and the Victim Witness office, offering services to such victims.
