Parent-child synchrony and adolescent adjustment

Article Abstract:

This article examines the influence of parenting practices and family life on the psychosocial adjustment of adolescents. Findings indicate that family harmony, parental empathy, and the degree of synchrony, or reciprocation between the parent and child, directly contribute to adolescent adjustment.

From parent verbal abuse to teenage physical aggression?

Article Abstract:

This article examines the causes of physical aggression in teenagers, focusing on the effect of poor family relationships on adolescent psychology. Findings suggest that teenage criminal offenders experience extreme amounts of verbal abuse in their families.
