Pavlovian contingencies and resistance to change in a multiple schedule

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted to investigate the effects of response-reinforcer contiguity on resistance to change using eight adult pigeons. The three procedures used to disrupt behavior were prefeeding prior to the experimental sessions, adding a variable-time schedule in timeout periods separating components and extinction. Findings indicated that the Pavlovian contingency was identical for the unsignaled and immediate schedules, while the response-reinforcer was degraded for the unsignaled schedule.

Class-consistent differential reinforcement and stimulus class formation i pigeons

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to investigate bidirectional A-B and B-C relations with training clusters using class-consistent differential reinforcement with two different types of reinforcers. The experiment used 16 white pigeons that were maintained on a 12:12 hr light/day cycle. Findings indicated that class-consistent differential reinforcement that produced distinctive sample behavior promoted stimulus control relations similar to those that circumscribe equivalence class formation.

The spatial distribution of behavior under varying frequencies of temporally scheduled water delivery

Article Abstract:

Research reveals a relationship between the relative frequency of water deliveries and the distribution of spatial properties in rat behavior. Results are based on two experiments testing time allocation in varying locations and positions.
