Predictors of the psychosocial adjustment of children living in households of parents in which fathers abuse drugs: the effects of postnatal parental exposure

Article Abstract:

This article examines the psychosocial adjustment of children when their father's enter substance abuse treatment. The authors maintain the level of psychosocial adjustment depended upon parents' age, weekly family income, presence of domestic violence, frequency of fathers' substance abuse, diagnosis of antisocial personality disorder of fathers, and the level of mothers' psycholocial distress.

A pilot trial of piracetam and ginkgo biloba for the treatment of cocaine dependence

Article Abstract:

Effectiveness of nootropic agents, like piracetam and ginkgo biloba, to improve cognitive function and reduce the incidence of relapse in chronic cocaine-dependent patients was studied. Results indicate that neither piracetam nor ginkgo biloba appear to be effective nootropic agents to cure these patients.

Provision of naloxone to injection drug users as an overdose prevention strategy: early evidence from a pilot study in New York City

Extent to which naloxone is administered in New York, to prevent overdose mortality of drug users is examined. Its feasibility is also analyzed.
