Regional perspectives' from Europe: Is there a European social model? Building and promoting social work in Europe

Article Abstract:

An overview of social work in Europe in December 2005 is presented. In the context of emerging new global issues European social work professional bodies are working to strengthen their partnership and common goals.

The evaluation of a social work program in a hospital-based family practice unit in Ontario, Canada

Article Abstract:

The client's perceptions of a social work program is explored as a step towards better understanding the feasibility of social work as an integral part of community oriented primary care (COPC) in a Canadian context. The findings of the evaluation program suggest that the relationship between the social worker and the family physician should be considered a central feature of the emerging structure of health services.
