Reliability and validity of the daily living activities scale: a functional assessment measure for severe mental disorders

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the validity of using the Daily Living Activities Scale (DLA) as a means to measure the severity of mental disorders are examined. Topics include the manner in which reliability of a psychological measurement can be tested, a study evaluating DLA internal consistency and interrater reliability for 85 clients, a study testing symptomatology and functionality for 886 clients over 6 months, and conclusions that support the usefulness of the DLA.

The reliability and validity of a group-based measure of adolescents' friendship closeness

Article Abstract:

An experiment was carried out wherein six items were given to a multiethnic sample of middle school age participants in a group delivered safer sex intervention to find out their reliability and validity. It was seen that at the within-group level the association between baseline friendship scores and cost concurrently and subsequently measured items were positive and statistically significant.

Reliability and validity of the transracial adoption parenting scale

Article Abstract:

The reliability and validity of the Transracial Adoption Parenting Scale (TAPS), that measures cultural competence among transracial adoptive (TRA) parents is discussed. Findings indicate that the TAPS hold promise of being a psychometrically sound instrument, which to measures cultural competence among TRA parents.
