Research note: toward an effective subcounty settlement classification: comparative density revisited

Article Abstract:

The Federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) defines metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) for use by federal agencies in collecting and publishing statistics. OMB reviews and revises the standards for defining MSAs at least once every 10 years, typically before each decennial census.

Brief history of law enforcement intelligence: Past practice and recommendations for change

Controversies have surrounded law enforcement intelligence due to past instances, even though no crimes were being committed. This violates fundamental constitutional guarantees and offends the American sense of fairness with respect to government intrusiveness.

Violence change and cohort trajectories: Baltimore neighborhood, 1990-2000

Article Abstract:

The patterns of violence and population change are examined at the census tract level in Baltimore, for the period 1990-2000. The analysis indicates that some Baltimore neighborhoods have experienced collapse of youthful cohorts.
