Stratification: Residential space, lifestyle, social interaction, and stratum identification

Article Abstract:

The data from the 2003 National General Social Survey is used to analyze the degree of stratification in China's contemporary urban society, explore the consequences and influences of objective social stratum structure in related social fields, and examine whether there is any consistent correspondence between the two. An attempt is made to provide answers to whether and in which fields there are problems arising from the stratification process, and to present a new perspective in the analysis of the situation of social stratification in China's urban society.
