The 'Problem of Equality' revisited: a response to Kevin Lamb

Article Abstract:

Some of Kevin Lamb's declarations in the essay 'The Problem of Equality' are debatable. Lamb contends that Richard Heirstein and Charles Murray made a mistake in their work 'The Bell Curve' when they drew conclusions that the data they had gathered had failed to substantiate. Lamb's assertion that biological differences are central to racial inequality is founded on empirical research that invites skepticism, as well as on false statements.

Problem gambling among incarcerated male felons

Article Abstract:

Issues regarding the prevalence of compulsive gambling among incarcerated male felons are discussed. Results of the South Oaks Gambling Screen given to 233 adult male felons suggest some problem with gambling among 35%, while 38% were probably compulsive gamblers.

Time to completion of web-based physics problem with tutoring

Article Abstract:

The paper investigates the student-tutor interactions through a web by extracting the function of time taken in solving physics problems. The largest number of students formed a sigmoidal fraction to indicate the logarithmic time response to the answers.
