The relationship between sexual insecurity, the alcohol expectation for enhanced sexual experience, and consumption patterns
Article Abstract:
A study of 303 men and women students revealed the sexually secure male subjects' expectations of enhanced sexual pleasure as direct indicators of their nature and degree of alcohol consumption. Perceptions of alcohol's effects on sex in sexually insecure men, secure and insecure women failed to predict their drinking patterns.

The effects of stress and coping on daily alcohol use in women
Article Abstract:
Results of a six-month study of the drinking habits of 32 middle-aged women revealed stress to be directly correlated to the alcohol consumption levels in the subjects. However, subjects with low problem-focused behavior regulated their alcohol intake for after the duration of stressful events.
