Developing a brief measure of smoking in the home: description and preliminary evaluation

Article Abstract:

Ambient nicotine concentration in households in which someone smoked were quantified using a passive nicotine monitor to evaluate the effectiveness of the Household Smoking Questionnaire in measuring environmental tobacco smoke exposure. The findings support the effectivity of the questionnaire due to the high correlation between the indoor smoking assessed and the nicotine levels measured. The evaluated indoor smoking was found to linearly vary with respect to the nicotine levels.

Social physique anxiety and disordered eating: What's the connection?

Article Abstract:

Social physique anxiety (SPA) is linked to other body image measures considered important in the understanding of eating disorders.The link between SPA and measures of eating disorder symptomatology has been examined to identify whether SPA should be seen as a further risk factor in the prediction of eating disorders. The results of a questionnaire indicated that social physique anxiety could be a useful tool in understanding eating disorder symptoms in female undergraduates.
