Untreated remissions from drug use: The predominant pathway

Article Abstract:

There are no studies examining the prevalence of untreated remissions from drug use, other than alcohol or smoking use. The service utilization of former drug users has been explored, using data from the 1994 Canadian Alcohol and Drug survey (CADS). Most prior drugs users did not come in contact with drug-treatment services, and few used alcohol-treatment services, suggesting that untreated recoveries could be the main route to recovery.
