What does social welfare produce?

Article Abstract:

Advocates of social welfare would have to go beyond arguments of social justice to convince their opponents of its benefits. Five benefits of social welfare that fit the context of human services are outlined. These are human capital, social benefits, economic benefits, civility societal morale and cohesion and aesthetics. These benefits should be supported by proof within market economies to empower social welfare and make it more relevant. In addition, several issues have to be considered. Among them are the reality of the context, the evaluation of criticisms and the need for evidence.
