Women's experiences of cervical cellular changes: an unintentional transition from health to liminality?

Article Abstract:

The article examines the impact of abnormal Pap smear test results on a population of women in urban Sweden. Findings show information regarding the test results created disorder, rather than order, as neither health nor disease were excluded or confirmed. Implications for patient experience research are discussed.

System induced setbacks in stroke recovery

Article Abstract:

An examination is presented on poor patient outcomes as a result of patient interactions with social care and health services, using as an example 13 of 57 stroke patients from a community stroke facility in England. Implications for research on disease process and service provision are discussed.

Sudden illness and biographical flow in narratives of stroke recovery

Article Abstract:

The article examines the process of biographical construction of the self in stroke patients, identifying differences in construction generated by social indicators such as previous illness experience knowledge and patient age. Implications for patient outcome assessment are discussed.
