Conservatism pays off in fickle retail climate

Article Abstract:

Adverse weather conditions during the holidays had less effect on the ski shops than expected, primarily due to conservative ordering by the retailers. Inventories reported were at or below previous year's levels. New York metropolitan area retail trade suffered more because of record high temperatures during the Christmas season.

Integral boot-binding tops new Look-Nordica venture

Article Abstract:

Look Sports and Nordica USA have merged their operations. This combination will allow the ski equipment manufacturers to combine sales forces and develop similar products. The company is working on a combination boot and binding system that they are testing now.
