Staff members at waterparks and aquatic centers are greatly aided in communicating instructions and rules to guests when legible and easily understood signs are posted. The most effective sign standards are the highway signs, which are recognized universally.

Issues concerning water-slide safety procedures are presented. Each aquatic facility is unique, so the cookbook approach of a single set of safety standards would not work. All components of a given facility play a role in overall safety.
