A beginner's guide to getting fit: how to go from zero to regular exercise against all odds and excuses

Changing from a person who never exercises to one who exercises regularly is a gradual process. Advice for people at every stage of the process is provided. For example, people in the first stage are advised to gather information about exercise and to talk about what they dislike about it.

Studies have show that strength-training programs have beneficial results for both older men and women. The training resulted in weight loss and muscle mass increase, as well as improved balance. Walking, care for the back, and other fitness tips are discussed.

Fit and fast brains: exercise may boost thinking speed

Researchers at California State University, Fullerton, conducted studies regarding the effects of physical exercise on one's ability to think quickly. The 31 women who participated in the exercise program were determined to have increased their reaction times.
