A better weedguard

Article Abstract:

Weedguards made of plastic-coated braided wire are inexpensive and easy to work with, as they can be reshaped many times while fishing, and attaches easily to an existing fly or popping bug. This wire, which is generally used between monofilament leader and fly prevents cut-offs by bluefish, northern pike, and other toothy species, and it is suggested to buy only braided wire with a plastic coating, as uncoated wire unravels and is useless for this application.

Caring for your fly lines

Article Abstract:

Fly lines are made of different materials, where their coatings differ with each manufacturer and some are designed only for cold water or tropical water, hence a common cleaning method would not hold good for all lines. Clean lines work better and last longer and the hydrophobic coating, which repels water and makes the line sit higher in the surface tension, helps it float better.
