A plug for hearing: imagination may dim loud noise

Article Abstract:

People who imagined wearing earmuffs when exposed to loud noise experienced less temporary hearing loss than people who did not imagine wearing earmuffs. People who imagined wearing ear protection may have decreased the pain of the loud noise without affecting the blood flow to the ear.

Sight better: prescription could mean smarter computing

Article Abstract:

Headaches that come after using a computer for a while, might be alleviated if prescription reading glasses were used. The consumer need not wear them all of the time, but limit usage to online time. Other ergonomics factors to consider for comfort at the keyboard, are discussed.

Dehydration, if left untreated, can lead to elevated body temperature and heart-rhythm disturbances. Symptoms of dehydration include dizziness, fatigue, cramps and nausea. Sixty-four ounces of fluid intake a day is the minimum amount necessary to maintain good health.
