Acute responses to resistance training and safety

Article Abstract:

Resistance training has become part of exercise rehabilitation process for people with coronary artery disease. Factors that influence acute circulatory response to this kind of isometric exercise include number of repetitions, absolute load, muscle mass involved in lifting, joint angle, and Valsalva maneuver. This exercise technique is safe for most healthy people and many with cardiovascular diseases.
